2020 ASAP SERVICED APARTMENT INDUSTRY AWARDS CATEGORIES

With the introduction of brand new awards and a stand alone celebratory Gala Dinner in the Summer of 2020 the ASAP Awards will truly be showcasing and celebrating excellence in the serviced apartment, aparthotel, corporate housing and extended stay sectors around the globe.

With 11 categories to enter, the accolades will be presented to serviced apartment operators, agents and industry aligned suppliers as we look to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements and innovations that play an important part in raising standards within the industry.

If your company works in the business of serviced apartments, the aparthotel, the corporate housing and the extended stay accommodation industry and has done something exceptional and you think is worthy of recognition by your peers, now is the time to stand out from the crowd and make your colleagues proud to participate in the ASAP Serviced Apartment Industry Awards Programme for 2020.

Below are the various categories, with entry requirements for each and what the judges will be looking for in your entries.

SME Marketing Award **New for 2020**

DESCRIPTION:

The SME Marketing Award will recognise a marketing, PR or advertising campaign that has proved to be original, innovative and particularly effective carried out within a company that has a turnover up to £1.5million. Can be a one-off campaign, part of a sustained strategy and carried out via any type of media.

Judges will be looking for the following:

  • Explanation of your target audience
  • Objectives of the campaign
  • Identification and evidence of marketing activities deployed
  • Evidence of the creative/design elements of the campaign
  • Evidence and details of results achieved inline with the
    campaign objectives

Eligible to enter:

  • The category is open to serviced apartment provider and  agent members of ASAP and ASAP Business Partners. In addition, the category is open to any non-member provider or agent company who operates within the serviced apartment, aparthotel, corporate housing or extended stay sector.
  • Open to all companies of any size or geographical location

 

Corporate Marketing Award **New for 2020**

DESCRIPTION:

The Corporate Marketing Award will recognise a marketing, PR or advertising campaign that has proved to be original, innovative and particularly effective carried out within a company that has a minimum turnover of £1.5million. Can be a one-off campaign, part of a sustained strategy and carried out via any type of media.

Judges will be looking for the following:

  • Explanation of your target audience
  • Objectives of the campaign
  • Identification and evidence of marketing activities deployed
  • Evidence of the creative/design elements of the campaign
  • Evidence and details of results achieved inline with the campaign objectives

Industry Impact Award **New for 2020**

DESCRIPTION:

The Industry Impact Award will recognise a company, product, service or innovation which can demonstrate a positive impact or commercial success on the serviced apartment, aparthotel, corporate housing or extended stay sectors. The impact may come from a technological, design, or brand innovation which has displayed a significant and visible impact on the sector over the past 12 months.

Judges will be looking for the following:

  • Explanation of the technological, design or brand innovation, including its development from concept to delivery including details of research and background
  • Evidence of the positive impact on the sector
  • Evidence of commercial success the innovation has had on the sector
  • How the product, service or innovation has made a positive social and/or economic change within the industry and the evidence you have to support this
  • Overview of future developments or plans for continued sector impact

Eligible to enter:

  • The category is open to serviced apartment provider and agent members of ASAP and ASAP Business Partners. In addition, the category is open to any non-member provider or agent company who operates within the serviced apartment, aparthotel, corporate housing or extended stay sector.
  • Open to all companies of any size or geographical location
Sustainability Award **New for 2020**

DESCRIPTION:

The Sustainability Award will recognise a company that can display innovative and cost effective sustainability initiatives and where sustainability aspects are embedded throughout the company which can be evidenced via tangible and commercial deliverables.

Judges will be looking for the following:

  • An ‘exemplar’ approach to sustainability and society that is innovative
  • Evidence of tangible objectives, targets and intended outcomes including research, development and implementation
  • Evidence that sustainability (environmental and social) issues are factored into core business strategy along with an approach that demonstrates stakeholder (employees, suppliers, clients, society etc.) involvement in the development and deployment of the initiative.
  • Evidence of commercial deliverable, outcomes and that the impact is long term rather than short lived.

Eligible to enter:

  • The category is open to serviced apartment provider and agent members of ASAP and ASAP Business Partners. In addition, the category is open to any non-member provider or agent company who operates within the serviced apartment, aparthotel, corporate housing or extended stay sector.
  • Open to all companies of any size or geographical location

 

Industry Newcomer Award **New for 2020**

DESCRIPTION:

The Industry Newcomer Award will recognise a company that has come into business in the last 2 years (start date after 1st November 2017) and can demonstrate a strong commercial success along with a strong and positive impact on the serviced apartment, aparthotel, corporate housing or extended stay accommodation sectors.  The company should be able to demonstrate outstanding business performance and be able to tell us what makes you the best of a great new crop!

Judges will be looking for the following:

  • Evidence of initial development and company launch including initial business plan, objectives and sales/marketing strategy
  • Overview and evidence of the launch of the business into the sector
  • Evidence of strong commercial success and impact on the sector including clear USP's
  • Evidence of exceptional customer satisfaction levels
  • Evidence of the initial growth and success since launch with the provision of the most recent trading accounts for the business

Eligible to enter:

  • The category is open to serviced apartment provider and agent members of ASAP and ASAP Business Partners. In addition, the category is open to any non-member provider or agent company who operates within the serviced apartment, aparthotel, corporate housing or extended stay sector.
  • Open to all companies of any size or geographical location

 

SME Business of the Year Award

DESCRIPTION:

The SME Business of the Year Award will recognise the outstanding achievements, initiative, boldness and imagination in a business as well as sound management practices and outstanding customer satisfaction over the past 12 months. The company, which must have under 50 employees must be able to demonstrate sustainable growth and a degree of commercial success that is exceptional for the size of the business.

Judges will be looking for the following:

  • A sound business plan with clear sales and marketing strategy and clear USP's within the product service/offering
  • Evidence of strong management and leadership
  • Evidence of excellent customer satisfaction levels
  • Evidence of the development and sustainable growth of the business
  • Evidence of strong financial performance and commercial success

Eligible to enter:

  • The category is open to ASAP provider and agent members or members of GASA/CHPA holding ISAAP
  • Accreditation as a minimum with up to 50 employees only
  • The company must have been trading for a minimum of 2 years and must be able to provide the last 2 years trading accounts

 

Corporate Business of the Year Award

DESCRIPTION:

The Corporate Business of the Year Award will recognise the outstanding achievements, initiative, boldness and imagination in a business as well as sound management practices and outstanding customer satisfaction over the past 12 months. The company, which must have over 50 employees and a minimum £1 million turnover, must be able to demonstrate sustainable growth, outstanding business performance, a clear differential in its market place and a degree of commercial success that is exceptional for the business size.

Judges will be looking for the following:

  • A sound business plan with clear sales and marketing strategy and clear USP's within the product service/offering
  • Evidence of strong management and leadership
  • Evidence of excellent customer satisfaction levels
  • Evidence of the development and sustainable growth of the business
  • Evidence of strong financial performance and commercial success

Eligible to enter:

  • The category is open to ASAP provider and agent members or members of GASA/CHPA holding ISAAP Accreditation as a minimum with over 50 employees and a minimum £1 million turnover
  • The company must have been trading for a minimum of 2 years and must be able to provide the last 2 years trading accounts

 

Rising Star of the Year Award

DESCRIPTION:

The Rising Star the Year Award is open to business people aged 30 or younger (by 1st November 2019) who can demonstrate a high degree of entrepreneurship, creativity and a vision for the future. The individual who has set up or had a significant influence within the business will have established and achieved objectives and will
be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the relationship between the individuals' development and the success of the business along with the ability to display a proven track record of growth, development and success along with innovation, enterprise and entrepreneurial flair.

Judges will be looking for the following:

  • Strong leadership, vision and flair
  • A clear understanding of business, financial planning and innovation
  • Evidence of the contribution to the business and the relationship between the individual and the success of the business
  • Evidence to the local community and to the serviced apartment sector as a whole
  • Evidence of personal growth, development and success

Eligible to enter:

  • The category is open to individuals under the age of 30 (as at Nov 1st 2019) from any serviced apartment provider and agent member of ASAP, ASAP Business Partners company, or from within any non-member company that operates in the serviced apartment, aparthotel, corporate housing, extended stay sector
  • Open to all indivduals from any company size and geographical location

 

Team of the Year Award

DESCRIPTION:

The Team of the Year Award will recognise the outstanding achievements of a business team or departmental team which can demonstrate how teamwork has led to their success and consistent, high levels of customer care and service. The winner of this award will be able to demonstrate how the development or implementations of its team across the organisation has been integral in meeting company objectives, achieving a successful business environment and a thriving internal culture.

Judges will be looking for the following:

  • Clear identification and overview of the team or departmental team structure and how its fundamental in helping the business to achieve its goals and success
    Evidence in business strategy and performance of the team which has led to company success
  • Evidence how the team delivers over and above both internally and externally for its guests

Eligible to enter:

  • The category is open to ASAP provider and agent members, ASAP Business Partner companies or members of GASA/CHPA holding ISAAP Accreditation as a minimum.
  • Submission can be from a company or departmental team within a company - a company may enter up to 3 departmental team entries

 

Investment in People Award

DESCRIPTION:

People are at the centre of our sector from the team to the guest and the Investment in People Award is to recognise a business which invests in people both internally and externally where people truly matter and where the customer is king (or queen!) The company should be able to demonstrate a clear commitment to people at every level within the organisation and how the company empowers employees to delight the customer with outstanding customer service and guest experiences.

Judges will be looking for the following:

  • Overview and evidence of the business’s investment in its' people, including how the company develops, supports and empowers its employees to delight the customer
  • Evidence of the procedures in place to enhance the guest experience and customer satisfaction levels including complaint and follow up procedures
  • Evidence of resources and tools implemented which can demonstrate the organisation as being people and customer-centric

Eligible to enter:

  • The category is open to ASAP provider and agent members, or members of GASA/CHPA holding ISAAP Accreditation as a minimum.

 

Guest Experience Award

DESCRIPTION:

ASAP champions excellence in guest experience and the Guest Experience Award is to recognise a company that can provide strong evidence of outstanding relationships with their customers coupled with an enhanced customer experience offering. From increased customer retention levels, to a demonstration of strong account
management, increased revenue per customer or improved satisfaction levels (or all of the above!) whether it be as a result of new products, services, pricing or communications the company should be able to clearly demonstrate how the team and the business delivers both internally and externally for its guests.

Judges will be looking for the following:

  • Clear demonstrable evidence of what initiatives the company has implemented to achieve and deliver outstanding guest experience
  • Overview of how the guest experience is reviewed and monitored
  • Evidence of complaints and review systems of feedback and the implementation of procedures and initiatives to improve the guest experience
  • Overview of new products, services, pricing or communication initiatives which improves and delivers outstanding guest experiences
  • Overview and evidence of enhanced guest experiences through better customer relationship management

Eligible to enter:

  • The category is open to ASAP Provider members who hold ISAAP Quality Accredited Provider status or Agent members who hold ISAAP Accredited Agent status
  • The category is also open to those GASA/CHPA members who hold valid ISAAP Quality Accredited Provider or ISAAP Accredited Agent status
  • The Company must hold valid ISAAP Accreditation throughout the awards process

 

Online Reputation Excellence in partnership with ReviewPro

Additional Category which will be awarded by ReviewPro and is not open to submissions

In recognition of the importance of the guest experience within the serviced apartment sector the ASAP in partnership with ReviewPro will recognise the ASAP Provider company or property which holds ISAAP
Quality Accredited Provider status and is the highest ranking company in accordance with ISAAP Accreditation and ReviewPro GRI.

The award, will be based upon the following judging criteria:

  • ISAAP Quality Accreditation scores
  • Global Review Index (GRI)
  • Global Review Index compared to the previous period
  • Number of Reviews
  • Percentage of positive semantic mentions
ISAAP Excellence Award

Additional Category which will be awarded by ISAAP and is not open to submissions

Through the course of the accreditation process with ASAP Provider and Agent members, the ISAAP Quality Assessment Consultants often experience a product or procedure which stands out as being particularly worthy of mention or of being an example of best practice or aspirational achievable quality. This award will recognise the Provider or Agent whose product or procedure has been considered worthy of particular promotion and exposure in this context.

Eligibility:

  • Companies being considered for this award by ISAAP and the external judges will need to hold valid ISAAP Quality Accredited Provider or ISAAP Accredited Agent status at the time of the Awards programme closing and at the time of judging.
